Dr. Andrea Blake-Garrett is an educator, consultant and CEO & Founder of Dr. Blake-Garrett's Educational Solutions, LLC (http://drgarrettsedsolutions.com). She has taught science to students K-12 in East Orange and Newark. She also serves as a mentor to many teachers, parents, and young people within the local community. If the authors name sounds familiar that is because she has worked for the Jersey City Public School over 10 years. She challenged the city’s children to “put on the jacket of science” as District Supervisor of Science before moving to work in the areas of Home Instruction and Nonpublic Schools. She has been featured in local papers in Newark and Jersey City 1998, 2004 & 2008. “It was not difficult to develop the manuscript as Izzy & JuJu present a great deal of things for me to write about. I just had to decide which one to use in this book. I possess a natural love for science. I live in a scientifically fabulous world and could not write a book without including a little science.” says an animated Dr. Blake-Garrett. She no longer wears her trademark colorful white lab coat but she still has a smile as big and her personality.  Incorporating science with her new passion -Promoting Early Literacy among students age 2 and up, Dr. Blake-Garrett has been working with parents on how to help their children improve their reading and listening skills.  She has earned two Masters Degrees from Montclair State University and a Doctorate from Seton Hall University. Dr. Blake-Garrett lives in Newark, New Jersey with her husband Walter and fabulous twins Izzy & JuJu.
